Balancing life as a mother of four, a business owner, and a cattle farmer on an 8-acre farm in southern Minnesota, BreAnne Scheid is a woman of many talents. Yet, through her participation in Prime Pageants, BreAnne has found more than just a crown—she’s discovered the power of self-care, community support, and the strength that comes from encouraging others. As Mrs. Minnesota Prime 2024 Division 3, BreAnne is embracing her reign with a message that resonates deeply with women everywhere: we must prioritize ourselves in order to be the best for those we love.
“I chose Prime because of the opportunity it gives women of all backgrounds to support and encourage one another. It also gives me the resources to achieve my own dreams and ambitions.”
Family, Farming, and Fulfillment
BreAnne’s life is a delicate balancing act of family, work, and farming. “I’m a wife and mother of four, running my own accounting business out of my home office,” she shares. “On top of that, I also help raise cattle with my husband on our farm. When I’m not chasing kids or cattle, I’m reading on my Kindle and working on my self-care!”
Through Prime Pageants, BreAnne has found new ways to inspire and impact her small rural community. “I love the doors it has opened to help or volunteer,” she says. “There has been an outpouring of support to shoot for the moon and do what makes me happy, all while being a role model for my kids.”
As a proud businesswoman, mother, and wife, BreAnne’s heart is full knowing that she’s showing her children the importance of chasing their dreams—while also staying grounded in family values and community involvement.
Self-Care: A Vital but Overlooked Necessity
Like many women, BreAnne admits that finding time for herself can be a challenge. Participating in Prime’s Self-Care Challenge has given her the structure and support she needs to prioritize her well-being.
“I’ve loved every bit of this challenge,” BreAnne says. “It’s reassuring to know that my goals are similar to others, and that everybody struggles to put themselves first sometimes. The support from everyone is so genuine—it’s wonderful to know people really care.”
As a mother and a business owner, finding time for herself can feel like an afterthought. “The hardest part of self-care for me is making time for myself. As women and as moms, it’s always been instilled in us to serve everybody else first and ourselves last,” she explains. “With a husband, four kids, and still working, putting myself first doesn’t get thought of often. My goal as Mrs. Minnesota Prime 2024 is to focus more on my personal journey and growth to be a better human, better mother, and a better self-critic.”
Embracing Self-Care in All Its Forms
BreAnne has found her own balance through the different aspects of self-care, incorporating mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual habits into her daily life.
– Mental Self-Care: “Reading gives my brain a break. Whether it’s a self-help book, a murder mystery, or a sappy love story, it allows me to escape for a little while.”
– Emotional Self-Care: “Therapy! Therapy! Therapy! I have the most amazing therapist who helps clear my soul. I highly recommend finding someone with the education and background to help—it’s been life-changing.”
– Physical Self-Care: “Running is my go-to for staying active, and it helps me keep both my mind and body in check.”
– Professional Self-Care: “Starting and running my own business from home is an achievement I’m proud of. It’s a big part of my self-care because it’s something I’ve built on my own.”
– Practical Self-Care: “I love picking a travel destination each year to go on a trip with my husband. We save for it, plan for it, and enjoy every moment. It’s something I look forward to and cherish.”
– Spiritual Self-Care: “Honestly, attending church on Sunday mornings is all I need for my spiritual self-care. It fills my heart and resets my soul for the week.”
– Environmental Self-Care: “A clean house equals a clean slate for the day or week. There’s something about starting fresh that helps me stay grounded and focused.”
A Platform for Moms: “You’re Not Alone”
BreAnne’s platform as Mrs. Minnesota Prime 2024 is one that speaks to the hearts of mothers everywhere. As a mother of four, BreAnne understands the guilt that often accompanies parenthood. “Some days, we put our littles to bed and reflect on our day, and nine times out of ten, there’s guilt,” she explains. “We think, ‘I should’ve said something different,’ or ‘I shouldn’t have gotten angry at that.’ We all feel those feelings, and I want moms to know they’re not alone.”
“We’re all in this together,” BreAnne says. “No one is perfect, and we all have those moments of doubt—but we can overcome them by lifting each other up.”
Her platform focuses on connecting with moms, offering support, and reminding them that it’s okay to have those tough days. “We’re all in this together,” BreAnne says. “No one is perfect, and we all have those moments of doubt—but we can overcome them by lifting each other up.”
By creating a safe space for mothers to connect and share their experiences, BreAnne is fostering a community of understanding and compassion. It’s her hope that through this platform, mothers can release their guilt, find peace, and know that they are doing an amazing job.
