Azsa Harris, crowned Ms. California Prime 2024, Division 3, is a woman of faith, creativity, and compassion. A proud Southern California native from Eastvale, Azsa’s journey through Prime Pageants has been one of connection, empowerment, and growth. “I chose Prime Pageants because of the unique way it encourages their queens to connect and get to know each other before the National Competition,” she explains. “By the time we compete at Nationals, it feels like a reunion with sister queens who’ve built great connections all along the way.”
For Azsa, this sense of unity and camaraderie has been invaluable, transforming the pageant experience into a supportive sisterhood. Her involvement with Prime’s monthly masterminds, the Personal Improvement Visionary Award (PIVA), and the Self Care Focus Group Challenge has been instrumental in her journey. “These opportunities are not only fun; they also offer Prime Queens support, accountability, and recognition for our achievements,” she says.
A Heart for Others: My Heart’s Comfort
Azsa’s platform, My Heart’s Comfort (MHC), is a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering faith. MHC is a toy donation program she founded to bring comfort and joy to children battling childhood cancer. “Our program’s message to every child fighting cancer is that Jesus is their biggest advocate and their greatest comfort,” Azsa shares with passion. MHC toys are primarily donated to the Jessie Rees Foundation (NEGU), an organization that sends jars filled with toys to children in hospitals worldwide, encouraging them to “never ever give up.”
I am so grateful to have the opportunity to use my platform to support and comfort children who are facing unimaginable challenges. Through My Heart’s Comfort, I want to remind every child that they are not alone.
Her work with MHC allows Azsa to live out her faith and inspire others by spreading hope and joy. The mission behind MHC is simple but powerful—providing tokens of comfort to remind children that even in the darkest times, there is light and love.
Embracing Self-Care Through Creativity and Community
While Azsa’s heart is focused on giving back, she also understands the importance of self-care and the balance it brings. “Being a part of the Self Care Group Challenge has been more helpful for my personal care than I expected,” she admits.
Seeing other queens meet their self-care goals motivates me to ensure I am addressing my own self-care needs.
Azsa finds solace in exploring her creative side through arts and crafts, coloring, and drawing, which help her support her mental health. Journaling her feelings also fulfills her emotional self-care needs, allowing her to process her emotions in a healthy way. “I struggle with the mental area of self-care the most,” she says, “because I find it difficult to use mental energy for things that would support my mental health when other areas of my life are mentally demanding.” Despite this challenge, Azsa continues to find ways to prioritize her well-being, knowing that it’s essential for her overall balance.
I love supporting myself mentally through some form of art such as coloring and drawing. It’s a way for me to unwind and refocus my energy positively.
Azsa also embraces dance as a form of self-care, which not only supports her physical health but also uplifts her mental and emotional well-being. “Dancing has a positive effect on me physically, and it helps my overall sense of happiness and fulfillment,” she shares. Her love for movement extends to other activities like roller skating and attending large-scale events like festivals and concerts, where she finds joy and inspiration.
Staying Organized and Grounded
For Azsa, maintaining organization is a vital aspect of her self-care routine. “My absolute favorite form of practical/financial self-care is having an organizational system for everything,” she says. A clean, simple, and minimalistic environment supports her need for structure and calm. This dedication to organization helps her balance her multiple roles and responsibilities, ensuring she has time for her passions and self-care practices.
Her spiritual self-care is also deeply important to her. Attending Bible study allows her to deepen her faith in a supportive, intimate setting within her church community. “I can best support my spiritual self-care needs when I attend Bible study. It’s a space where I can connect with others and grow spiritually,” she reflects.
My faith is the foundation of everything I do, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share it with others and find strength in my church community.
Empowered and Ready for the Future
Azsa’s journey as Ms. California Prime 2024 is more than just a title—it’s a story of resilience, faith, and love for others. Through Prime Pageants, she has found a sisterhood that empowers her to achieve her goals, live out her passion for giving, and embrace self-care in every aspect of her life.
Looking ahead, Azsa is excited to continue her work with My Heart’s Comfort, spreading messages of hope and support to children fighting cancer. With the foundation of faith and the encouragement of her Prime Pageants sisterhood, she is determined to make a lasting impact in her community and beyond.
Prime has given me the opportunity to grow and connect with incredible women. I am so grateful for this journey and the chance to be a light in the lives of others.
