Let’s get to know this SITI GIRL better!

  • Tell us a little about yourself:
    • I am a football fanatic, foodie, music love, world traveler, wife to my cool husband of 20 years (Kevin), mother of 2 kids, 2 cats, and a German Shepherd.
  • What advice would you have for women in their 50s and/or greatest lesson you’ve learned?
    • My 50’s have been the best!! I think I have finally learned how to live my best life. I have become more confident in myself and not worrying about what others may think. The best way to describe it is that I found freedom.
    • For women in their 50’s, dreams don’t have an expiration date!!! Continue to set goals for yourself. Set the bar high!!
  • What advice would you have for women in their 20s-30s?
    • My advice to women in their 20’s and 30’s is the best is yet to come. Don’t feel like you have to have everything figured out. You have plenty of time.
  • You’ve had an incredible career path…Tell us more about that and any career advice you might have for other women.
    • I changed my career at age 35 and just recently at age 54. I am now traveling throughout the US and internationally meeting with key opinion leaders in the Oncology community. I had many people ask me why the change from Nursing and my response was “why not.” I have learned to not live in the would have could have. Always bet on yourself. Even if it doesn’t turn out the way you want it, at least you tried.

Tell us about your Lupus journey and your MINDSET as a THRIVER.

  • It has been 20 years since my Lupus diagnosis. It presents challenges but it has made me stronger. It is my superpower. I remember when my father was diagnosed with cancer the first thing he said was “why me?” And the second thing he said was “why not me?”  He taught me that there is a life lesson for every situation. My lesson was to share and be an inspiration to those living with Lupus. I may have Lupus but it doesn’t have me!!
